about

Presented here are the first and forth albums to be marketed as "Radio Eris": SEAN'S KITCHEN (tracks 1-9) and BURNING MACHINE (tracks 10-16). Who am they, and how they came to be? Well...

SEAN'S KITCHEN (recorded 1996, released by Orange Entropy in '97) was produced in collaboration with Sean O'Donnell, a college acquaintence whom I re-encountered after moving to downtown Philadelphia. I produced cheap keyboard noise through used guitar pedals, plus some pedal-loop feedback. Sean grabbed loops of it and built structures, adding e-perc and fx. It was then recorded to a stereo Walkman.

BURNING MACHINE (recorded variously '97-2001, released '02) was an odds'n'sods compilation assembled from solo experiments and various collaborations recorded during Radio Eris(or E.R.I.S., as SK's cover art had it)'s foundational years.

Both were released on CD as Radio Eris albums, but at a certain point we decided to list them as "Burning Machine," essentially a Matt solo project. Lora is only represented on "Lost Highway," a track that didn't make the cut to LORALAII.

(a.d.amorosi) From poetry readings to, open mics to rock clubs, afterhours bars, stages and strip clubs, to Dutch churches, book stores and basements, Radio ERIS continues to surf the chaos. ... more
